Performance and Rehab Seminar with Allison Cannon, DVM, Sunday March 7, 2021 at 3PM

Allison Cannon, DVM

An enthusiast group joined South Florida Dressage Association for an in person meeting with certified equine rehabilitation practitioner, Dr. Allison Cannon, DVM in the covered arena at lovely Buttonwood Farm to discuss how a specific exercise program can improve a horse’s physical condition. Both flexibility and strength are required for the optimal performance in the sport horse. However, most horses lack in one or both of those areas due to natural imbalances or because they are coming back after an injury. Dr. Cannon discussed with us how to identify the issues and how to develop a plan to help you maintain a happy, strong and flexible equine athlete. Many thanks to our equine volunteers for allowing Doctor Cannon demonstrate helpful exercises.

Thank you to everyone for remembering to bring a chair and parking outside the gate so that the Buttonwood borders could use the parking area beside the barn.

Check out the photos from the event. Video is soon to follow.

Doctor Cannon is available for preventative care appointments, as well as rehabilitation consultations through Paws and Hooves Veterinary Services Phone: 954/224-5543

Could we also add (it’s not in the trifold) that we follow USDF? I am too tired tonight, but could we say something like: SFDA follows the USDF rules and guidelines concerning regional schooling horse shows.
